[Es2] heater flap position motor

Anybody replaced the heater flap position motor?  Any tips?  A friend is doing his 90q20v and has the glove box out, center console out, ... but isn't there yet. Does he have to pull the dash in order to get to the motor?  As I recall, it is on the center tranny hump on the bottom of the heater box by the core.

Any tips would be great.
