And to answer your question about the AAN intake manifold is that it goes 
exactly where the radiator needs to be.  I have seen conversions that used 
the manifold and tilted the radiator, Sport Quattro style - yet other 
conversions have modified the manifold by cutting off the intake and moving 
it further forward.....The deciding factor will be cost...if you plan on 
using an S2 or Rs2 Intercooler (requires S2 or RS2 front crossmember and S2 
or RS2 style bumperettes - they have no metal beams and really offer no 
crash protection - then you can purchase new or used plumbing to duct it 
into the 200 q 20v intake (3b) manifold.
If you are doing something else (different IC, fabricated front cross 
member, fabricated ductwork, then you can do want you want
