[Es2] my 20vt project

Rick,
I've attached a pic of where I cut the new hole for the 3B harness after I
removed the battery box. There's a nice flat spot that's big enough for the
hole. Which reminds me; don't cut the hole too big for the harness grommet!
Better to start with one that's too small so you can enlarge it little by
little with each test fit. You definitely want a tight seal.
You'll be 'releasing' the wiring bundles on the CQ in the fuse box area in
order to install all the 3B connections. I pulled both the main and aux.
fuse panels right out (labeling everything along the way of course). In
fact, I had the entire dash out of the car. (see pic) This gave me plenty of
room to work and see what I was doing. One of the benefits of cutting the
new hole is that it simply works better with the 3B harness. This is the way
it goes through the fire wall in the 200, so all the lengths work out
better. You don't really have "extra" wire to coil up. I chose to keep my AC
so drilling a new hole was the only way to go. The one thing I'm unsure of
is how the S2 harness would differ from the 200's harness. Does it use the
CQ firewall hole?
The wiring diagrams do not show which harness particular wires belong to,
aside from saying things like "left side engine harness", which you'll soon
learn is somewhat vague in its description. I'll try to find some time to
post my notes on the wiring this weekend. Hopefully it will take some of the
guess work out of this task for you and others. I will say that the wiring
took a solid two months worth of weekends to figure out completely!
Ben
