Chris,

If the car still drives then the clamping plate and springs of the PP are
still intact.
It is possible that the TB wore through the release fingers on the PP,
but if that is the case you would have heard bearing noise for quite a
while.

Are you sure that you didn't loose the clutch master or slave cylinder or
hose
and are just not getting enough hydraulic pressure to release the PP?
