[Es2] S2 shift linkage - pro con 10 interference

OK - I checked and it became clear that indeed Procon-10 was jammed against the shift
linkage. This was after I installed the subframe, so interference was not clear before.

Shame - would be nice to keep the safety feature. Maybe the bracket can be cut and
re-welded.

I will recheck today. I thought I had moved the linkage through its entire range. That
was before I installed mounts. It may be sitting higher now and interfere. There is
about 3/4" clearance in the neutral position.

Ben,

For reference, I took those straight on, leaning down into the engine bay.

Ben,

Here are a couple pics of the S2 linkage bumping the procon ten bracket.

Ben,

What shift linkage are you using? Euro R/S2 or bi-turbo S4?

Thanks,

Tim

I have my trans installed. No ProCon10 interference (yet), but the hydraulic line for
the slave cyl. Needs to be bent or refabbed to fit properly. I should know more soon,
as I am just getting things bolted together now.

Hey guys,

I'm wondering if any of you (Ben, maybe in particular) have experience with an O1e in a
Coupe Quattro, with an S2 shift linkage. I've got the engine, subframe, tranny, and
linkage installed, but the linkage is hitting the driver's side pro con 10 bracket, and
won't get into the 5th/6th gear channel.

Has anyone encountered this?

Has anyone installed a european CGR O1e with S2 shift linkage into a Coupe Quattro?

We're thinking that maybe the pro con 10 bracket is specific to the tranny, and that the
euro O1e bracket is smaller than the US O1a bracket?

Any thoughts?

I'm trying to track down euro-ETKA to compare part numbers for the brackets.

Thanks,

Tim Roman
