Hello all type 44 maniacs. Up for parts or entire vehicle preferabbly is my good friends 86 5000 S automatic. Let me start off with the good stuff. The vehicle still runs very strong, starts first try, burns very little oil, no leaks, manages mid-twenty mpg, and still good for triple-digit speeds. The body is very clean besides the now mishapped front left fender. All lights work, power seats work, good paint, no oxidation, looks beautiful after a waxing, nice interior. The odo didn't work when the car was purchased but reads out 136K I believe. My friend was involved in an accident where he understeered heavily (told him to get the quattro!) into a curb at around 25mph damaging quite a bit of the front left suspension. The two front tires are popped, and the front left fender could use replacement. Also, if you were going to go the whole 9 yards the car could use a new brake bomb. For a mechanic or someone who knows what they are doing, this would be an excellent run around car. I
know the car at a minumum needs new tie-rods and an A-arm. Looking for a local sale, as the vehicle obviously needs a tow. Pics to come shorty. My friend would prefer selling the vehicle as a whole, maybe in a few days if there is no bites we shall begin parting it.
