Description:
PICTURES.
This is a beautiful car and I'll hate to see her go, but graduate school forces sale. 170k miles. Since I've owned (Feb 2003) New warranted steering rack from Jorgen, high pressure hose, axle, wheel bearing, ignition switch, new Zimmerman pads and rotors with less than 10k, rebuilt p/s pump, timing belt, water pump, thermostat, tensioner etc, relayed headlights. After owning 6 months, I watched my neighbor scrape the driver side while parallel parking. Upon checking with the insurance company I had two options, either take it to a AAA approved body shop and let them fix and paint the front drivers fender and door and have a car with non-matching body panels, or have them cut me a check for the damage. I chose the latter and had a friend who's done body work professionally for 10+ years completely overhaul the exterior and repaint it the original color. There was no rust on the car prior to painting, and it is pretty much flawless on the exterior. Starts, runs quietly, shifts,
and stops as it should. Tan comfort seats in nice shape, the drivers shows some wear, but is not split open anywhere. Cruise works, all power seats and windows work, sony CD and wiring for an amp, new Bosch wipers.BF Goodrich Comp T/A's with about 40% tread. The car does have a few typical Audi issues; bobbing speedometer, autocheck works but does not light up (probably a bulb), rear wiper motor needs replacing, cracked side marker lamp, A/C has not blown cold since I've had it but the previous owner gave me an extra compressor. Headliner sagging above rear cargo area, one brake light is has a short. As of the last time I drove the car, the stock boost gauge shows only 1.5 bar, before this, it has always made the full 1.8. It still feel great and has no other issues with the way it runs. I suspect that it is something very minor, but I am not much of a mechanic. This is an extremely nice car at an very reasonable price. I'd had plans to make this a 300 hp beast, but my lack of funds
and limited mechanical knowledge leave this dream unrealized. If you know Audis, this could be accomplished very easily. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions you may have. I do have a few more photos if you like to see them.
