I bought this car new at Christmas 1990. Color is Arctic White. Car has lived in Monterey and Silicon Valley from new, with occasional trips up and down the West Coast. It has never been tracked, chipped or wrecked. I did hit a deer which got the euros and the strut brace taken care of. The car is very strong and pulls 1.8 bar easily. The body is near perfect. Interior (leather, headliner, carpets) perfect except for the hole in the wheelwell carpet where my heel goes. It has euro headlights, strut brace, and a few minor mods to fix the usual problems.
It has a K&N air filter, new Michelin tires, new bomb, new front struts, non-UFO brakes, new cats, a button on the console that dumps the engine codes, shift linkage repair that made shifting like new, Sony head unit and 10 disk CD changer. All windows, doors and mirrors work. Drivers side door wiring has been rebuilt, and window operation replaced. New heater core and OEM radiator at 260,000 - along with new AC regulator, heater control valve, and stepper motor. Dash PC boards rewired which cured all dash problems.
In the past 2 years, forward from about 265,000 miles, it has gotten the following repairs, replacements, mods, etc.
New O2 sensor. Replaced prop shaft, right front CV and wheel bearing, right rear half shaft, and brake bomb, and repaired shift linkage, New fuel pump. New clutch master. Rebuilt calipers. Car comes with a bucket of parts, a spare BBS wheel, a spare Bosch steering pump, and fairly new bottles under the hood.
Current issues include:
5 small dash gages intermintent. I am told it is a relay transformer that provides 5 volts to the gages that needs replacing.
Something loose in the sun roof.
I believe the front seal is leaking from a replacement done at 255,000 miles, with new timing belt and water pump.
I use fuel injector cleaner regularly, run Mobile 1, and change the filter with every oil change. I was surprised that putting in the over-sized cats produced such an improvement, including the long not-seen 1.8 bar. Presently the car has 305,000 miles, runs great but needs a new homeâ¦â¦..
