OK, Here goes. I have been dreaming about an 84 Urq 20v conversion for the past 15 years. I finally purchased this Urq about a month ago and also had a 20v AAN from a 94 S4 parts car that I took apart. I guess the story is, that sometimes dreams come true too late and life is just too darn busy once reality sets in. I just don't have the time or the patience at this time in my life for this car or this project. The engine is complete, harness, ECU, all input and output, fuel system, and whatever else you want. (I still have the parts car in my garage complete). The engine was running perfectly and the ECU is chipped. I drove the parts car into my garage prior to dismantling it. The 84 Urq is not the best of 84's for sure. It was the perfect project car in my mind for this project because I wouldn't want to tear apart a nice 84. I just wouldn't have the heart to tear apart a really nice 84. This car is rusty, the seats are trashed, and the A/C system was previously removed
by a butcher. That is the bad and the ugly of the car. The good of the car is that it is an 84 Urq with 100k that is black on tan and mechanically in pretty good condition. It runs and drives fairly nice, considering the miles. The rear muffler is shot and it is a little noisy (actually sounds pretty good). This is a Canadian no sunroof car. The interior, other than the seats themselves, is actually in good shape from the perspective of the carpet, headliner, dash, console, etc. I really don't understand the seats. They are just dry rotted, faded, and split in a couple places in both the front and rear. From a structural perspective the seats are OK. They just need new leather for sure. I saw the car as the perfect opportunity to just gut the car, put in some Recaro's, and turn it into a nasty little black Urq 20v track car. This thing needs a $3000 paint job, an interior overhaul from whatever perspective someone saw fit, and the 20v conversion completed and it would be
an awesome no sunroof track monster. I just don't have the time at this point in my life to follow through with the dream. I have four children, one of which was just born in March of this year. The coupe is ready to drive away as it is, it runs just fine with the 10v, and the 20v conversion parts are all ready to be loaded into a truck and are included in my asking price. I have more photo's if you are interested and will answer whatever questions may arrise. Thank you for the interest.
