I am selling a fiberglass hood that I built for my 1988 5000TQ.  The hood has a white gel coat surface, and was laminated with fiberglass and vinyl ester resin.  Reinforcement ribs (end grain balsa) were added to stiffen the hood.  There are glassed in steel plates with welded on nuts in the original hinge mounting positions.  I did not add a provision for the stock latch system, so hood pins must be used to hold the front down.  The hood needs finish trimming around the edges, and has one small almond sized blemish in the gel coat that should be filled and sanded.  Windshield squirter holes would need to be cut, and the firewall on the buyers car would need to be extended to meet the hood (if desired).  The hood weighs approx. 15.5 lbs, compared to stock hood of approx. 55-56 lbs. (?).  Excellent weight savings from a high forward location on a nose heavy car!  I am selling to obtain funds towards getting my efi conversion done; and I am planning on building an even
lighter carbon version for myself sometime in the future.  I am asking $500.00 obo.  A lot of time went into this project.  I would prefer local pickup, but would ship at buyers expense.  The hood is located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada.  I can be reached via email or phone.
