Description:
NO PICTURES.
I bought it in August of 2000. It ran well, but had a bad exhaust manifold leak. I promptly yanked off the head, had it checked for wear and vacuum and it was deemed ok.
At the same time, I installed a water/oil cooled turbo (K26), new gaskets and timing belt/waterpump.
I totally rebuilt the suspension, installing new wheel bearings, new ball joints, control arm bushings and sub-frame bushings. At the same time, I removed, cleaned and re-greased the CV joints and installed new boots. All struts, control arms and subframes were sandblasted and painted Imron black.
Next step was to pull the whole motor and have that checked out. Block was hot tanked and painted, new bearings were installed (crank and rod), new rings, new motor mounts, new clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing and slave cylinder.
After that, I sent the body to get done. It was blasted to bare metal, a few dents were present and promptly removed. It took over two years for the car to be completed, but it looks great with it's Brilliant White paint job, and I get compliments on it every time I take it out.
While it was in the paint shop, I acquired a set of Platinum leather seats for it by sheer luck. That is the original color interior for this car. There is one minor wear mark on the drivers side bolster, but otherwise these seats look new, and are very supple. The heaters work as well!
Also, the a/c has been changed to R134, and it blows pretty cold.
It has G-60 Calipers (dual piston) up front with ATE powerdisc rotors, rears are stock, but drilled. I had to put in a Tilton brake bias valve in the car to accompany the G-60s.
Everything electrical works.
It has a small tear in the headliner in the C-pillar.
It has the european stainless exhaust on it now, with a CAC polished stainless tail pipes. The car will be sold with the US catalytic converter pipe as a spare.
I have the window sticker from when it was sold in Georgia by Brumos Porsche, plus many other records going back to 1987.
I have also installed a temperature gauge in the dash, and aftermarket boost, oil temp and oil pressure gauges in the console.
It has Koni yellows and Eibach springs.
It's a very nice car to drive on the highway, very smooth and powerful. (TAP chip, Dialynx manifold, adjustable wastegate)
As for price,(no, the listed price is not the asking price) I would rather discuss that in person after the prospective buyer has seen it.
There are a few pics here, some are before the tear down.
