Description:
NO PICTURES.
I've had this car for a year & really like it, but I've just been offered an incredible deal on a newer A6 4.2 with 50k miles & I just can't justify keeping 2 Audis (I already own a mercedes, porsche & alfa romeo)... The car has 230k miles but drives very, very well. I've probably spent close to $5000 in the last year to make it a reliable & comfortable car. The UFO's were replaced about 2k ago (still some wobble at high speeds, but not bad), timing belt etc. was done at 220k, I replaced ALL suspension bushings (the car is incredibly solid over bumps & road imperfections now), dizzy gear (new dizzy), knock & engine speed sensors, ignition barrel just done. I purchased the car from a gent in upstate NY - he had replaced the power steering rack & pump not long before I purchased, so no problems there either.
All electrics work perfectly other than the drivers seat heater (of course)and the small computer screen, which I believe was due to the stereo being changed to an in-dash clarion CD. The warning function still works (beeps) when you first start the car, which it does because the brake warning sounds - I don't believe my mechanic seated one of the sensors properly when he changed the UFO's. It hasn't really bothered me, so I left it... The headliner was redone & doesn't sag & the front sport seats are both in excellent condition.
As mentioned the car drives really well& flies over 4000rpm, though the I'm not sure if it's making full boost. The computer always goes up to 1.4bar & I've read tha 1.8 is common, but my mechanic who is an Audi fanatic told me that this drives just as quickly as any other that he has driven & it's probably a false reading. I've never driven another so I can't really compare, but it's definitely quick enough for me.
I've used the car as my airport leaver/snow car & daily driver whenever the other cars are getting serviced or upgraded. The body is far from perfect, but it does look great when clean. I beleive the car may have been hit in the rear at some point in it's life because the only rust I could find is on the passenger side c pillar near the rim piece & it looks as though the trunk is just slightly out of alignment. Over all very presentable. The A/C blows but not cold - I had the system pressure tested & there was a big leak from the condenser, so I found a great used one, but have not fitted it due to not needing it during the winter - I will supply the condenser & drier with the car. The transmission shifts well, but is just a little sticky going into first - but no problem once you're used to it. Clutch is great.
Extras with thecar include the euro headlights (passenger side just cracked, but I found a replacement lense), V8 tail lights, 17" mille miglia wheels - currently on the car with excellent michelin alpin snow tires (incredible) - original wheels will also come with the car.
Feel free to call me with any questions & email me for pictures - 248.884.4856 mobile. Thanks, Nick
