Description:
NO PICTURES.
MC1 running QLCC chipped MAC11 ECU with 2bar wastegate spring and K26 turbo. Urq igloo, downpipe, and intercooler were used to make the swap easier and more OEM appearing. Cylinder head has probably 25k on it or so. Engine runs fine, starts up fine hot or cold, gets around 22 city and 28 highway. H&R springs with Boge Turbo Gas shocks for suspension. Those components were installed back in early 2003 I believe. All new ball joints and tie rod ends up front were done then, and rear ball joints the summer after. Rear tie rods havnt been touched (replaced) since I have owned the car (2002). Jamex strut bar up front was installed in the fall of 2003 as well. H4 euro headlamps up front with city lights. Replayed harness and bulbs putting out 100/130W. I think those are correct numbers, the bulbs are Hella and the boxes for them are at home. Exterior was painted Alpine White by a friend back in 2003 and looks good, minus some places where rust has started to appear. Passenger
front fender is the worst, the inner fender area is starting to bubble, but the other areas are touched up regularly with OEM paint by me.
Interior is great with the stock Commemorative Edition red leather. Pretty rare to find seats in this good of shape. Floormats are NLA Lloyds black mats with red quattro lettering.
Interior dash lights are OEM and bright, the only lights that dont work are the ashtray (not hooked up) and cig lighter (intermittent). All doors open and close fine, one of the rears has a new handle. All doors have new door srikers. Windows all work fine as well. OEM radio was put back in, as was the original differential lock panel. Boost gauge sits in the glovebox and is rarely used (I honestly dont boost much anymore with the car). Exhaust is a 2.5in cat back custom job that was done around town, and sounds fine. Battery relocated to trunk in favor of wastegate. NEW clutch kit installed in May of 2008. New starter at time of motor swap as well. New motor mounts May of 2008. Transmission mounts were done back in 2003, same with 2 of the 3 rear differential mounts. Fresh G11 coolant at the same time. New OEM non metal radiator and coolant tank installed at time of motor swap (2005). Car currently rides on B3 90 BBS wheels with Dunlop Graspics which could get through
one more winter. Car also has new and NLA rear badging on the trunk lid.
I drive the car daily and have just lost interest since moving out and into my own place. I dont have the time or tools here to tinker with it. Wanting a new car and will pick up a hobby car when time/space/unlimited money allows. Car is an absolute hoot to drive, alot of fun, I sure have enjoyed it. Always gets proper oil changes with seasonal NON synthetic oil and a German oil filter.
Car has gotten me to and from anywhere I needed to go (Iowa, Pennsylvania, Southern Indiana, Michigan, etc). Car can be driven anywhere with confidence.
Things that need attention to the perfectionist...alternator belt needs tightening, there is a noise when the car warms up, sounds like the downpipe is hitting somewhere. I havnt been able to get the car up to look at it. Its done this for months, just not something very critical that Ive been forced to look at. Intake or exhaust leak somewhere under high boost (get some popping noises). This developed this past summer, so for safetys sake I dont hit full boost almost ever. Like the previous issue I havnt looked into it much.
There are probably many things Im missing and could provide, but after owning the car for this long I forget some things.
I encourage SERIOUS parties to contract me and to visit the links provided for pictures and information. Car can be sold with or without Bentleys for BOTH the 4000 and 5000 (2 volume set). Buyer will be pretty darn happy, thats for sure. This car has more potential but is perfectly fun as is. Im an OEM nutjob so Ive kidna kept it to how the factory should have done a real 4000 turbo quattro.
