Description:
NO PICTURES.
THE CAR:
2000 A6 4.2, 90K miles, black w/black comfort seats, premium, winter, 17" pie plates, no navigation.
THE GOOD:
Starts, idles, shifts, runs, stops, steers, suspends very very well. Trans is silky smooth as is engine. Good power, no pulls, leaks, or weird noises.
Cosmetics are very good. Exterior is no accidents, body is nice and straight, paint shines well and is all original except for plastic bumpers & RR quarter panel (it looks fine). Glass/trim all good. Everything works, A/C is ice cold, interior wood/leather/carpets/door panels/headliner all very good. Without detailing in current condition, I'd give exterior an 8, interior an 8.25. With detailing and a few door dings removed, I'd give exterior an 8.5-8.75, interior an 8.75-9. Trunk, spare, jack, first aid kit all there.
THE VERY GOOD:
Carfax is excellent and service history extensive at Audi dealers since new. Most recent services include full timing belt job at Audi dealer in Dec '07 at 86K miles for $1975, front brakes, oil change, new Conti ExtremeContact tires (90% tread remaining) for $740, brake fluid flush, fuel injection service, etc etc all at Audi dealer. A VERY well taken care of car. Drives tight and smooth, not loose and rattly. Nothing to do for next 50K+ miles really except drive.
THE BAD:
Rear bumper paint is so-so, should be redone. I get them done for $150 and they look very good. Some mild scuffing to wheel lips. Some scratches and door dings, nothing terrible and some/most will come out in detailing. Normal for 8 year old 90K mile car. L/R window switch is bad but I will replace it. Some wear to front seats, mild/normal for driver seat but some cracking to leather on base of passenger seat (weird, I know). No holes or tears though. Cluster has usual center display issue...sometimes works fine, sometimes lines through the display. No books, so have to hit ebay for a set.
SUMMARY:
A highly maintained, good looking A6 4.2 that drives properly for a good price. With t-belt, brakes, and tires done, it's a solid deal.
Owner has $8500 in it, and that's what he wants for it. I have $125 in it, and I'd like that back too please! If you want anything else done, wheels refinished, detailing/door dings, leather re-dye, etc I get good rates and would just pass on at my cost.
Email me or call 856-912-2600, car is in PA 45 min north of Philly. Thanks, if no takers here then on to fleabay I guess.
