This is a great car! A unique car here in the US, it’s an excellent winter car and a great highway cruiser. We’re only selling because we’d like to get something with four doors now. I have a file overflowing with receipts going back to 1999, plus the original maintenance records within the Audi maintenance log from the original owner up to 1999. The car has been well looked after. I’ll make a simple list of all the good things and the bad things to be upfront.

Good: Everything works! The auto-climate control is fully functional and the A/C blows cold (I also retro fitted a pollen filter from later sedan models). Sunroof opens and closes without a problem. Both heated seats work, as do the heated side mirrors and heated windshield washer nozzles (I cannot confirm that the door lock heaters work, since I didn’t encounter a situation that required them). The stock alarm system works. All the lights on the dash and all the switches work (a rare thing it seems). It has a stock Audi radio from a later model (Gamma) that displays the radio information in the gauge cluster. I also have the original stock radio (Weisbaden) to go with the car, and I have the radio codes for both. ABS works, locking rear differential works, front and rear foglights work, headlight sprayers work. I’ve replaced the headlights with new European spec headlights. The interior is in great shape, with no tears and no missing trim pieces. Has the ski sack going through
the rear seats, and the rear seats do fold down 60/40. Car comes with brand new Blizzak Revo1s on the stock Speedline wheels as well as summer tires (90% tread left) on 17” OZ Superleggera wheels (I also have two extra Superleggera rims to go with it). It has a new cat back exhaust system. Also just passed Massachusetts emissions in January. Brand new brakes up front (calipers, pads, rotors and new ABS sensor on driver’s side) and entirely replaced the brake hardlines, front to rear, done in December, 2007. New rear calipers, pads and rotors done earlier in 2007. Both the previous owner and myself used only Mobil 1 synthetic. New OEM intake duct (99% of these are cracked on the 20v motors). New heavy duty rubber Michelin winter floormats and stock carpet mats as well. New Audi windshield installed a little over a year ago. European rear center license plate panel installed. OEM exterior temperature display in gauge cluster retrofitted from later sedan model.

Bad: The car needs an alignment, it drives straight, but the steering wheel is slightly off center. Front springs and shocks seem a little worn. Paint is in overall good shape except for the roof and spoiler, which look worn/faded a little from the sun. Passenger door cannot be unlocked from the outside with a key. This is fairly common, because a piece of plastic in the lock cylinder breaks from age. The only reason I haven’t repaired this yet is because it’s not really been an issue and I was planning to install a keyless entry system anyway. The door does lock perfectly fine along with all the other locks with the central locking system.
