Up for grabs is my personal car. That is right⦠many of you have coveted âGoldieâ for the past couple of years. Here it is. As I own one of the premier European Car repair centers in central Ohio, NO expense was spared on this gorgeous vehicle. The spec sheet is impressive by any standard. To say that it is one of the best built, prepped and quickest A4âs on the street would be no exaggeration. It is also THE sleeper of all time. With itâs black wheel center and gold paint work the LAST thing unsuspecting Corvette drivers are expecting is the smack down you are about to put on them. The car is reliable and mechanically ready for the track or to be a daily driver. Without further ado here is the Specification list:

You will never find another A4 with this much attention to detail. You will not find a faster more reliable A4. This car can be inspected by anyone you would like to have view the car. It leaks no oil, has no exhaust leaks, makes consistent neck straining boost and after sitting in the custom dyed Sparco Seats⦠you will never be able to drive another B5 car because you will realize how WRONG and how HIGH the stock seat is even on itâs lowest setting.

I built this car to be dead reliable for track days. I have only used it a few times. It was recently rebuilt and within the last 500 miles has had a new SPEC clutch. The car drives amazing. The sound created by this car is also totally unique. The exhaust and intake combination along with the larger displacement transforms the note of this A4 into something truly special. Without being overly loud it produces a deep resonance and a BLAT that will make the hairs on your arms stand up. Further of all Stage III and IV cars I have driven it is easily the most consistent. It wasnât always that way. Some serious time was invested in making the car behave the way it does today. From the perfectly judged suspension settings to boost levels, to fuel injectors this car has been perfected and honed to be a reliable high performance sedan.

All this R&D and trial and error comes at a price and I easily⦠EASILY have $45,000 dollars invested in Goldie. I have not for one minute regretted that. The car is an absolute blast to drive. It has ICE COLD A/C and can be driven by your Granny Ester , should you choose. I have been asking what I thought was a reasonable price for such a car⦠but now hear it is⦠for a pittance of my investment.

The walk around

This car has serious curb appeal. Just look at the pictures. It is by no means a show car, though it has done well at shows and many people WOULD show it. It has been used regularly. It has seen rain and snow, it is a Quattro⦠come on people. The car has been detailed regularly. The car has had service done at very regular intervals and it shows. The car has a very clean appearance. This is due in part to the fact that I am extremely anal retentive. If I see a spec of dirt in the center consol I go into the following routine: Flip out, start sweating, turn red and immediately find someone else to blame. The car is clean in this manner in and out. The wheels have had their gleaming lips polished regularly. Viewed from the side the stagger is just perfect, not too much as to be pretentious⦠just perfect. The HUGE stoptech brake kit just fits under the handsome 19 inch wheels. The car sits perfectly , perched with real purpose on itâs fully customized Koni suspension.
The paint has real depth of shine. Points of wear consist of the following; the car was once loaded on the top deck of a two tier race trailer which put a light gouge and scratch in the roof. No one ever notices it and I wanted to keep it original. The Carbon hood could be recleared as it has some wear on character lines, not dingy by any means, but remember I am anal. The drivers side kidney bolster has some ingress wear and the front bumper has some stone chips. There was a ding in the driverside rear fender that was removed with paintless dent removal about 3 months ago.

At this point let me take pause and separate this A4 from the garden variety boy racer A4âs that you may also be looking at. DO NOT BUY ONE OF THOSE. At no point has this car been run on low quality fuel. At no point have I skimped on maintenance because money was tight and I wanted to take my girl friend out for ice cream. At no point have I piled friends in the car to smoke where our parents couldnât find it. At no point was this car abused or treated without mechanical sympathy. At no point was this car drag raced. I am a 45 year old adult who has driven cars with close to 1000hp. At no point was the car called upon to deliver performance beyond itâs capacity. This is the one you have been looking for. If you feel the urge to call and tell me that my very reasonable BUY IT NOW is not reasonable⦠DONâT , as I will likely turn red, start to sweat, hang up on you and swear and then take it out on the next closest human. Click the buy it now with vigor. If you have ever
wanted a really fast car that makes all the right noises, hurts your neck and makes other people envy you, BUY THIS car. As I said, it is a great car that has had loads invested in itâ¦. You couldnât build one like this for double the buy it now. Also keep in mind that each one of these wheels is a $1,400 dollar example of lightweight sculptureâ¦.

The test drive

Dropping deep into Goldieâs seats you are at once aware of how wrong the stock seating position is and how this alone transforms this car into a Sedan with a purpose. It does so without the garish red race seat with yellow script that is so sadly common with sedan modification these days. Insert the key, twist and the motor fires to life unlike any 1.8t anywhere. The deep exhaust pulses letâs you know that what is about to happen isnât going to be a typical four cylinder experience. Slotting it into gear and moving off the clutch is heavier than most and has a very âbiteyâ demeanor that is by no means hard to master. Once on the move the smoothness of the power plant is evident. Once warm running it thru the gears is simply amazing. Hard acceleration in every gear, a whistle from the bailey that, instead of being just a rush of air has a distinct IMSA circa 1992 bypass valve tone⦠a real treat. I drive everything and this car is still impressive. The suspension is firm
, but no punishing with no bounce on the rebound. The car turns in smartly and the brakesâ¦. Well the brakes will literally hurt you. It is possible to take an unbelted , stout 6â2â male and slam him into the dashâ¦always a good time. If you are a knowledgeable driver with experience, there isnât much on the road that should bring the fight to your door. Overall the car is just a pleasure. All factory amenities are present and functional; power glass sunroof, power windows, power locks and mirrors, A/C climate control, CD player etc. The way this car drives is truly more of an experience than it is so much a drive. It is hard to describe the feeling of quality that exists in a great car. This car exudes that quality feeling.

This is a good opportunity to have a pretty killer car. Do not miss it. Cars like this are hard to come by. Just once I would like to buy one like this instead of building them from the ground up⦠but I have the disease. If you have questions on the car feel free to give me a ring.
