Description:
PICTURES.
1986 Coupe GT, extremely well sorted, all major items have been replaced and/or upgraded in the last 4 years. If you have done any ACNA DE's over the past 7 years at VIR, Mid-OH or Road America you've seen this car.
I bought it from an AF ad in 2001 and have brought it up to a quick, reliable track or street car while retaining the tremendous shape it was in when I bought it. No rust anywhere, paint in excellent condition, the car is covered when not driven.
Below is a list of what has been done to the car;
Engine: NG code engine with bigger valves than NG stock: 36mm exhaust, 44mm intake. Balanced crank and pistons. 2yo injectors, 200 flywheel, 20VT Headgasket (replaced in '09), Blau 272 cam, TT adjustable cam sproket.
Setrab oil cooler, radiator replaced in '08. Transmission is stock from 86 CGT.
Exhaust: 4K manifold, Magnaflow 2.5" resonator, STEBRO 2.5" mid and rear mufflers, stainless flex joint
Electronic gizmos: Eurowires enrichment relay added to keep WOT A/F ratios correct. Split Second A/F meter installed
Suspension: INTRAX lowering springs with BOGE turbo gas dampers, 034 control arm bushings, 034 track density strut mounts ('09), ADDCO rear sway bar, 4K front sway bar, CV's serviced and re-booted ('09), Front wheel bearings replaced ('07), rear wheel bearings ('09).
Brakes: Fronts are Hawk XPS pads with ATE orbital rotors, rears are still drums with pads done in ('09).
Interior: Interior is in near perfect shape. Custom shift and emergency brake boots (from a Audi friend in Denmark), MOMO pedals, MOMO Steering wheel, both OE and Corbeau GT Driver's seats.
Exterior: 2bennett front chin spoiler, super custom neat-o mesh grill.
Wheels & Tires: Borbet (T's?) 15" currently with Kuhmo XS tires, tires were new the beginning of the season in '09 ran probably 10 events with them, but theyre tires so they get replaced frequently.
Heres an additional list of things: Driver's side window regulator replaced in '09, Passenger side door handle works but is tempermental, Speedo light bulb is out. Car has a CD player and the OE speakers. AC is fully functional and works great.
Rough mileage on things: Odometer indicates 198,xxx , the engine has about 5k on it since rebuild, clutch is about 10k, the suspension has about 30k on it, as from above about the only thing that still original is the interior.
This car will turn heads anywhere you drive it, even little ricer kids like it. My price reflects both the condition of the car and a small fraction of the modifications done to it.
For those into numbers, it will run 1:53 at Gingerman, 2:10's at Mid Oh, and 2:45's at VIR full course.. on street tires with me driving, not super fast, but quick. Ive not dyno'd it
but using a Gtech type unit, calibrated against other dyno runs, its somewhere in the 130HP range to the wheels.
Ive had a great time with this car, and its now time that another Audi CGT fanatic have her and play. Im just not driving it, and thats not what needs to happen.
Like every one says...i would have no issues driving this car anywhere, and I took it to Road America and back (while running 2 tracks on the way) last summer. An oil change and shes good to go.
