I'm selling my avant to make room in the driveway. This car started as a 1992 100cs quattro wagon with V6 and automatic transmission. A little over 2 years ago, I swapped in a PT V8 from an Audi V8 quattro. At the same time I converted the vehicle to a manual transmission, which involved replacing almost all of the drivetrain. The shell of the vehicle had about 200k miles at the time of the swap. The engine had 80k, and the transmission/driveshafts/axles/differentials had about 85k. Since I built this car, I have put about 15k miles on it. I drove this car ~20 miles to work every day for about a year and a half. For the last 6-8 months, I've only been driving it on the weekends, so it has to go before winter.
The car has 17" wheels with nearly new (~3k miles) tires. The front brakes have been converted to 1st-gen Audi A8 brakes, and I have a vented-disc brake setup from the V8q for the rear. New parts used in the swap include complete timing belt/water pump kit, brand new clutch kit, brand new aluminum Fidanza/034 flywheel, chipped ECU, distributor caps and rotors. The headlights were converted to A6/S6 style, with multiple projectors. The vehicle has a name-brand aftermarket CD stereo with remote. The car also has OEM B5 S4 front seats and the original rear and 3rd-row seats. The suspension includes B&G 2" springs made for an avant, and newer struts.
This car is not in perfect condition. The interior shows some wear, but could be cleaned up nicely. The exterior has some scratches, dings, and chips, with some small rust spots where the paint had chipped. The stereo/antenna/speakers could use some work (I never really used it), and the car could really use a custom exhaust. The exhaust currently on the car was built as a test setup, but I just kept it on and drove the car. It's loud, but tolerable.
For a custom vehicle, this car has been extremely reliable. It starts every time, and runs and idles great. I have taken it on 3-hour trips without any issue. It would not be a daily-drive for everyone, but it worked great for me. This would be a great start for a track car/ice racer. Any other questions, just ask!
Asking $2500/offer. It's worth much more than that in parts, but bring cash and make me an offer. No test drives without cash in had. Thanks for looking!
