Description:
PICTURES.

3rd owner (2nd owners had it since 1986), taken care of extremely well its entire life. 1.8L 4cyl, fwd 5spd transmission, Oceanic Blue original paint are some basics. This is NOT a quattro, but rather a rare and excellent example of a 4000 Limited Edition model. Limited Edition 4000's came with power windows front and rear, quattro decklid spoiler, and sport seats up front. I do have factory marketing material to back up everything the LE's came equipped with.
Since purchasing the car in January 2010 I have put only 4-5k miles on the car. Within this time frame I have done extensive work. New parts are 4 new tires, timing belt, tensioner, water pump, thermostat, motor mounts, all metal radiator, coolant tank, G11 coolant, valve cover gasket, alt and ps belts, synthetic oil change with proper Mann filter, rebuilt entire shift linkage, brand new Intrax springs all around, new Bilstein sport shocks up front, used KYB's in the rear, new control arm bushings and ball joints done by previous owner, but tie rod ends and strut mounts were done by me, sunroof operates as it should, swapped butt foam piece from passenger to drivers side due to collapsed bolster, tail lights resealed, but the lights themselves do leak still. I think there are a few other things but all of this stuff was done in May before I drove the car 10 hours to Carlisle, no issues at all and I got 35mpg. I spent time bringing back the paint as it had lots of acid rain, but
I have done a decent job by hand and it came out pretty decent. Interior is how I got it with an aftermarket CD player and period correct Boston Acoustic speakers in the door panels and rear parcel shelf. I have replacement panels and rear shelf in case the owner wanted to bring the car back to OEM spec in this respect. Power antenna works as it should. The only thing Ive found that does not work is the upshift light and AC (have not looked into this, but all components are there). Body is in great shape with little rust (few spots above each license plate light), and on the drivers door sill as you open the door. Spoiler has paint fade.
What does the car need? Honestly not much. Center exhaust section could be replaced and I have that piece which was given to me by the previous owner. Oil pressure buzzer likes to go off randomly, oil pressure IS good, rest assured. This is an electrical gremlin that I have not had time to track down. Drips a bit of oil, maybe a drip an evening, but leaks no other fluids. Trunk leaks water due to tail light cracks. Brakes could be replaced (ebrake works great!), and I had planned on upgrading the fronts to accept vented rotors and do a rear disc swap. Windows seem a bit finicky in the front and I have cleaned the switches numerous times, but all regulators are fine. As for the windows themselves they have acid rain stains on them that I simply have no idea how to get out. The car is quite striking and has won some awards this past year at various car shows. Car is turn key and ready to drive anywhere. I want the car to go to a dedicated enthusiast who will continue to
care for this car and enjoy it. It gets fantastic mileage, gives me zero fuss, and lots of satisfaction when driving it. It REALLY turns heads. I can provide more detailed pictures and information upon request.
