The torque converter blew went, though the transmission was otherwise working well. The part is $485 (Shokan.com), with labor to install it came to $1,500. I would have done that but my mechanic had a low mileage transmission for $3,000, so I replaced the entire Tiptronic. Now that the transmission is removed, if you install the $485 torque converter, you should have a good transmission. Any reasonable offer accepted. Local pick-up only.
