Description:
NO PICTURES.
01 //S8 171k with 35k on new trans - many new parts - CT - $8250
5yrs and 80k into the //S8, time has come to move on. Been the best car I have ever owned.
35k on Ericsson rebuilt transmission, shifts perfect. Shell Rotella snynthetic & Mann filters every 5k (just changed couple weeks ago), 2 new front wheel bearings last month. OE Avus in "OK" condition on car now (with 20mm spacers) with 2 new Dunlop Wintersport M3 front snows (needs new rears). Car also comes with (4) BBS RXIIs (18x8.5 et32) with 265/40/18Y Sumitomo HTR ZIIIs (one blown/3 half worn).
New fuel pump @ 150k, new blower motor around same time, all front end bushings replaced @ some point.
I had an extended warranty which paid $6,500 in repairs before it ran out. Rebuilt trans @ Ericsson Transmission here in CT @ ~ 137k (1&2 slipping), $4k installed. It is PERFECT and shifts awesome. Tbelt / WP / Tstat @ 105k obviously, front motor mount done then too. Newer cabin filters, all drain hoses circumsized (big D2 issue if you dont do). PCV valve / fuel pump / filter @ 150k, left bank cam tensioner @ ~ 120k? Just installed OE rebuilt RR caliper last month. Ebrake works great on 1st few clicks.
Sport seats, solar roof for options...
mods:
-(4) BBS RXIIs (18x8.5 et32) with 265/40/18Y Sumitomo HTR ZIIIs (one blown/3 half worn... OE Avus currently on car, and Avus spare in trunk).
-brake block (keeps master cyl from flexing in sidewall)
-Ferodo DS2500 front pads (awesome), prob down to 40% now, needs a fina bleed after RR caliper install - pedal feel still real good
-Super Blue brake fluid
-clear corners
-10% tint all around (got car this way)
-X-pipe with Magnaflow straight-through "cats"(throw cat codes - foulers will solve)
-15mm spacers for OE Avus (center caps currently on car, not shown in pics below, caps are perfect)
-Phatnoise 20gb hard drive
-K&N filter
-Euro rear corner lights
-Vavona wood - LF door, center dash, shifter surround, cupholder, and ebrake surround all have "some" cracking. Didnt bother me enough to not install it, it makes the car soooo much nicer IMO. I still have OE wood, MINUS the center/rear vent surround, perfect save for one 1mm crack in upper right corner - hard to find/see.
-VW jack w/ metal wheel "positioning peg" - alum jack collapsed (all of them do this)
Everything works - all lights, switches, seat heaters, etc. except for the following: missing motion sensor switch in the drivers sill (came this way / if replace it would just be lost again, they all do this)... rear headrests stopped working (fully down at least / all of them do this).... Drivers lumbar air bladder doesnt work, dont know about passenger (all of them do this)... windshield washer pump needs to be taken apart / cleaned.
Drivers bolster is in excellent condition - I always see them wailed on, not mine! Im always in business attire and dont wear a cell phone on my belt! And I ALWAYS lower myself in / extract myself out so as not to squish them. I am weird like that. I dont smoke so no stink inside.
First Aid kit, emergency triangle, all books. One key/remote.
Paint is AMAZING - cleans up like new!
The bad:
Temp reads slightly cool on cold days only - otherwise its spot-on. New Tstat to go with car, uninstalled.
Valve cover gaskets weep and have dusty crud around them - but never leak beyond that. Car comes with new set uninstalled.
Original vacuum lines in engine bay, car comes with ~ 4 foot section ready to cut up and put in.
I see a sway bar "dog bone" bushing cracking (the tiny linkage end), no biggie.
CEL says small eveap leak. Recently the secondary air injection threw a code. Also throws codes for cats / o2s (foulers solve cat code / new Bosch o2s go w/ car to be soldered in).
Alum body trim is somewhat hazed (all post-facelift D2s do this).
Rear seats have "some"depressions from my kids kid seats - nothing offensive whatsoever, IMO. Bellypan missing when I got it.
F&R bumpers have assorted scuffs from 12yrs of age, and nose / headlight / foglight lenses somewhat sandblasted, but new OE windshield installed maybe 2yrs ago.
Tiny round ding atop hood (acorn) and another 2 tiny on nose from stone impact, and 2" narrow "dent" on hood edge (someones palm mark from shutting hood) - matching "palm mark" on trunk lid corner from someone else (if Id not mentioned youd be hard pressed to find any of those). NO other door dings or scratches anywhere. The car cleans up and looks nearly new other than the rear bumper which isnt even that tragic.
OE Avus in "OK" condition on car now (with 20mm spacers) with 2 new Dunlop Wintersport M3 front snows (needs new rears). Car also comes with the BBSs noted above.
Other than a 65mph nominal wobble (likely one of the Avus), the car drives amazingly! Very strong, sounds great, feels great, smells / looks great. Been a *damn* good car certainly.
You wont be disappointed. ***Car was my daily driver day in day out to schlep my 3 kids around - if it needed anything ever... IT GOT IT. Always.*** Only failed to start 1x (fuel pump @ 150k)... dead on reliable.
Call to discuss, prefer it go to an enthusiast who will appreciate it.
