Heater core BTDT on 80/90?

on my 87 5ktq (which should be identical to your 80/80) you get to it from
under the hood.  remove the plenum cover (black plastic cover from the
windshield to engine bay) and you'll see a big white palstic box.  the
heater blower motor and core are under that box.  remove the metal strap
around the box, loosen the adhesive around the box and gently pry it open.
then go back in side  and take out the glove box and everything connected to
the heater box.  too much detail to describe but once you get in there it's
pretty simple, just time consuming.  procedure is not covered in bentley or
any other manual but i'm sure you'll find detailed procedure in the
archives.  good luck.

    My heater core blew up in my lap the other day, and I am now attempting
to remove the entire heater box assy. from underneath the dash.  Bentley is
very vague on what is actually required to remove it.  Anyone kind enough to
provide some expertise on this?  TIA!
