Front End Clunk on 89 200TQA Resolved!

Good thing I didn't replace the outer cv joint. Front end clunking was due
to an inverted shock mount washer. There are 2 large washers, one on top of
the strut mount (visible when you remove the black plastic cover from the
shock tower) where the nut screws into the top of the strut and another on
the bottom of the mount. They should both be concave. The top washer
should be wedged tight against the rubber portion of the strut mount. If
there's a gap it means some bonehead has positioned the lower one convex
causing the clunking I was experiencing.
