Observations about "New Audi" drivers...

I always read these threads with amusement, as it seems to crop up
everywhere from time to time. In motorcycle lists the lament is how Harley
riders never wave. IME they do on occasion ...
The thing that rarely gets mentioned is the fact that the other person who
is being "a snob" might very well not have noticed you or had other things
on their mind. Piloting a vehicle in traffic is an undertaking that does
(or perhaps I'd better say should) demand a reasonable amount of the
driver's attention. If I wave at someone while driving or riding and do not
see a response I don't assume that they are deliberately ignoring me.
I'm on the same roads that were being discussed by the other two posts in
the San Francisco Bay Area. While I do notice quite a high incidence of
both older and newer Audis I rarely wave, because I'm sure that coming from
a guy passing on a motorcycle it would be taken the wrong way. I've always
threatened to get a license plate frame for my motorcycle that reads: "When
I Must Cage" on top, and "I quattro" on the bottom, but I've never looked
into having that done ...
