Tested the coil the old fashioned way - take coil wire (R is within
specs) and place near good ground and crank engine. Result : one
weakly little spark then nothing. Ground for power stage had
melted at one point and must be re-repaired (PO used duct tape to
fix). I think the blowing fuse#12 is a red Herring in this case, since
S12 is not ignition related.

My current approach will be to repair the powerstage ground (why
did it melt in the first place?), then check coil Ohms then check
ign. ecu output. What is the failure rate of the power stage?
Anyone?

Purchased the AutoZone Alldata CD and think its worth it for the
wiring diagrams and TSBs. Of course the Bentley is on order.
