You are right. The audi stuff exists, it's just not as easy to get to. The
cool thing about the porsche site is that it is consistent, logical, and
easy to peruse. They also seem to have a sort of standard layout for
pictures and a wealth of detail about how to do routine things without
factory tools. For a newbie, it's ideal.

Some of us have been doing this kind of thing for a while, now. Examples
off
the top of my head (and there are many others, these were the first to come
to mind):

Huw Powell's site, lots on the '80's coupe GT
http://www.humanspeakers.com/audi/

Jimmy Pribble and Darin Nederhoff' sites on the urS4/6 and other S models
http://urs4.com and http://s-cars.org

Scott Mockry's turbo audi lexicon:

My 200q20v site:
http://members.aol.com/c1j1miller/welcome.html

Eric Renneisen's '90 and '91 20-valve coupe and 90 sedan pages at:
http://audi.rennlist.com/

Brandon Hull's Ersatz S2 pages at:
http://audi.rennlist.com/s2/index.html

and many more. Lots more info here than on that porsche page, just not
organized into one central area, and not very interconnected.
Other suggested pages?
