Sounds very much like a cracked hose in your intake. Things sound as if they are
leaning out before boost puts positive pressure into the system. It is likely
the "Michelin man" hose between the intercooler and the throttle body. Look at
that one carefully off of the car. Close the ends against the palms of your
hands and squeeze it like an accordian. If this hose looks OK, check all of the
intake hoses and any hoses that connect to the intake manifold. If those check
out, give your intercooler a critical look for leaks.
