Back for a bit, Busted Downpipe

I'm back, for a little while. Moved in, kind of. College is in full
effect...
First problem of the new residence for the car. Driving down the road
and I hear more exhaust noise than usual. Was doing 60mph so didn't think
much of it. Pulled into the house and my car sounded like a motorboat or a
Honda. Put my hand under and felt tons of exhaust pouring out around the
downpipe/cat connection. I then found one of the three bolts had backed
off, tightened that without lifting the car up. Still massive amounts of
noise, had to go to class like this. Everyone within a 2 mile radius was
peekin over to see what kind of monstrosity was making this noise. Got home
and lifted the car on the nice dirt driveway, pulled the bolts and found the
flange on the downpipe is cracked. I twisted it around to seat it
differently and tightened everything up, quiet again, but for how long...
What can I do, that flange is not something that can be fitted around the
flared end of the downpipe. I have another downpipe at home that has a
thick 3 bolt flange and pipe end from a Mercedes on it, maybe switch to that
one, but for the time being I may want to keep the car from waking all of
Burlington in the morn. Oh I love this car, can't go a week without a
problem:)
TIA!
