Flywheels, clutches, lightening and needle/ball bearings...

Hi!

Received a flywheel today from an AAR engine. Part number is
034 105 271 C. ETKA says it should be a 034 105 270 S. Are they
interchangable? Can anyone give diameter of MC flywheel and number
of teeth for the starter ring?

Can I pull out the ball-bearing and lock rings on this flywheel
and use a needle bearing as on the MC engine? (AAR flywheel is
destined for MC engine). Why needle bearing instead of roller
bearing?

On closer inspection I see the outer race of the ball bearing is
still in the flywheel (markings on the race where the ball bearings
were squeezed out). Dismantlers! Sheesh! :) Missing some dowel pins
on the clutch side as well (according to ETKA).

I will hand the flywheel over to those in the know for doing some
lightening, but just out of curiousity: where would I take mass off
this flywheel? From the engine side of the wheel? There is a mass
of metal there that extends beyond the starter ring.

Who makes a good clutch and pressure plate that doesn't chatter?
Is $175 too much to pay for a Kevlar-Carbon disc from ClutchNet?

Thanks in advance.

Sorry for any silly questions.

G.
