The wires you mention go down into the driver's side of the trunk, remove
the
plastic buttons holding the side panel in place and reach up above the tail
light
and pull it out and down, you won't want to remove it completely as that
would be
a pain. The alarm/lock/unlock series of wires are a three wire connector
just
forward and below the tail light, there is probably a loose wire or short
there.
One of the two outer wires is for lock, the other outer wire is for unlock.
If
either of those two wires comes into contact with ground, it will activate
the
lock or unlock cycle. The center wire serves as both a ground for the
lock/unlock
and for the trunk light.

I used those wires to splice in a remote keyless entry system from AutoLoc,
that's why I know exactly what they do.
