tom,
bosch sells a generic 3 wire sensor which can be had for under $40. i have
a spare in my garage if you need the part #. just have to splice it in.
fairly simple to replace in less than an hour, i've done it in under 30
minutes after a few beers. no special tool required, just a 22mm box wrench
and a crow bar or pipe for leverage. easier if you remove the air box but
i've done it w/o removing it, also after having a few beers. even if it's
not the culprit it never hurts to replace it especially if you have no
history. it would cost you more than $39 just to have a mechanic look at it
and chances are you'll waste your money cause he won't find the culprit.
check and replace/clean/adj all the simple to get to and inexpensive parts
like the air/fuel filters, plugs, cap & rotor. again, w/o history it
doesn't hurt to replace 'em. good luck
bill

Just bought a 91 TQA 20v which is doing similar things at coast-down.
Entering
a parking lot, for instance, off the throttle, all of a sudden, the car is
not
running. Can't even tell, except no power steering and the dash is lit up
when
I wasn't looking. An occasional "miss" or momentary lurch when driving
under
power has been noted too. Car has just under 140k and I don't have the
complete
history. Still sound like OXS? Thanks. Tom
