So, there i am, in my UrQ with a non-functioning gas gauge. Its the
first date with this absolutely beautiful girl. As far as i know, i
have gas, (i usually use the fact that when it starts to get pretty
low, it cuts out going around harder right turns). Well, we start
going around this gradual turn, and suddenly it cuts out. Oh
no...thats really not good. I knew that the nearest gas station is
still a few miles away. I take my time getting there, but any time i
stop for a light, the car stalls. It was that low on gas. We get to
the gas station, BUT i cant pull in from my side, and i have to go
down to the next block, make a u turn, and then come back up. Im
really worried at this point, because well, it stalls every few
seconds...its really low. I get to the red light, am waiting there,
it turns green, my car stalls...no!!!!!!!! I crank and crank and
finally it starts, but the light is yellow, screw it, i start moving
slowly, i am able to start the U turn, and then it stalls, pop the
clutch, starts shuddering, have gas again. I wieghed my options, im
now 1.5 blocks from the gas station, but i dont think i even have
enough gas to make it that far, even if i go slow. The girl is
worried, im determined. I say screw it, floor the car, it bucks the
whole way up the street, like im bouncing off of the overboost
limiter... dies, but i coast into the gas station and come to rest in
front of the pump. Girl busts up laughing and wont stop for 5
minutes. I put some gas in the car...we leave... Girl still likes me
though. :o) Moral of the story, sometimes the old running out of gas
excuse works...lol Oh yeah, and make sure that your gas guage
works..hehe
Just thought i would share.
