No longer in the dark

Well I bought the Stonegaurd for my 88 90q H1/H4 Euro's. It is excellent
for preventing small chips in the glass on both the lights and fog lights.
Unfortunately, Stonegaurd can't stop everything, as I found out. My
driver's side light has a very expansive set of hairline cracks underneath
the Stonegaurd. I have no idea how this happened. It is highly possible
that a very large rock at high speed could have deflected the lens enough to
crack it even with the gaurd. The night I believe it happend I was driving
a very windy paved mountain road and was using my 100W H1 high beams almost
all the time. The crack is right infront of the high beam. I don't know if
the heat could have tried to expand the glass, therefore cracking it.
Either way, the stonegaurd prevented the lens from shattering. I still am
driving it now and there are no light distortions. Just my own 2 cents.

Subject: No longer in the dark
In spite of the help of the Audi God's evolutionary process which has
allowed
me to adapt to driving in near darkness, I have a set of Euro light ordered
for my 91 2CTQ.
I know there was some controversy, or at least a difference of opinion,
regarding the benefits of Stongard. What was the final outcome of the
discussion?
TIA, Jan Lahtonen
