Radiator replaced on 200q

I just finished replacing my radiator as the old
plastic tanked one had sprung a leak at a seam. When
I removed the upper hose I discovered it had already
failed at the neck and the hose was clinging to what
was left.
Anyway, I ordered an all-metal CSF from Olympic
Distributing (found 'em on the Audifans.com parts
suppliers list) for $135. $7 shipping from Oregon to
Colo put my total at $142. Not bad IMO.
Overall fit of the CSF was very good. The only
problem I had was the lower rubber mount would not
clear a lower lip on the CSF which apparently did not
exist on the OEM radiator. Two quick cuts w/my
grinder and a little bending w/some pliers quickly
moved the offending lip out of the way.
As has been said before, if you're gonna replace
your radiator just order a new lower rubber mount.
They're nearly impossible to remove w/out twisting
them in two. I needed to finish this project and
couldn't wait for parts so I ground flat two sides of
the mount 180 degrees opposite one another, then put a
large crescent on it and was able to remove it from
the OEM to transfer it to the new CSF. Yeah, kinda
butch.

Later,
Keith L.
