5ktq gear whine/SF mechanic/injectors

Greetings Listers,

After a several month hiatus and cross country move I have returned to the 
list. My 5ktq is continues to get closer to running sweetly.  The new Boge 
Turbogas and a few other susp. components this summer sure makes it more 
FUN! I am looking for a recommendation for a mechanic in San Francisco.  The 
Bay area list has not yet offered a suggestion so I thought some of you guys 
might be looking things over here, also.  I have mostly done my own work in 
the past, but the car lives on the street right now and I am not too excited 
about trying to do major work while dodging the cable car here on California 
St. I plan to do the injectors and also need to install new tires and get a 
4 wheel alignment. What about local parts suppliers?
Re: injectors.  I reread SJM webesite--Should I just tell a mechanic to 
replace everything in there, including the air shrouds?  The car has 
original injectors and seals--although you may not be able to call them that 
still ; ) and 150,000mi.  I have a cold start problem that happens if the 
car sits overnight. After cranking and waiting and cranking and waiting it 
will eventually start and then be fine the rest of the day. Hopefully, the 
injectors are leaky and clogged and their replacement will help.
Also,
I notice a noise while driving that comes from the front right of the car 
that is related to the location of the gearshift.  It is a gentle kind of 
hiss, that may be a quiet grinding of gears in the tranny or differential.  
The car is a five speed and it may have always made this noise and I never 
noticed it.  If the radio is on or I get up to speed it is too quiet to hear 
over tire/wind noise.  The noise will change pitch and volume if I keep the 
clutch pedal depressed and select different gears, or nudge the gear 
selector into various directions.  Is this normal, should I change tranny 
fluid.  If so, what should be in there?
