allroad impressions

i took a test drive of the allroad at lithia, in reno.
	tiptronic was the transmission.

well, the thing is not nearly as fast as i would want
it. i like it a lot - still considering trading up from
tha a4 avant - but it's not balls out fast like the
other incarnation of that same engine, the s4. maybe a
chip would help. i'd buy a manual tranny, i think that
	also may make a difference.

the suspension was tight enough, it seemed. the raising
and lowering of the car is elegant to operate and watch
even though it is a very complex process mechanically.
it was nice and big inside, compared to the a4, and i also
like the leather interior. i am disappointed that the
large-screen navigation system is not offered, and that
there is no cruise control controls on the steering wheel.
at least there are radio controls on it.

all in all, a good car, but quite heavy and not very good
when it comes to mileage. still, once i relocate to the
mountains, i think i'll get one.
