Ignition cut-off > lose wastegate on -87 5000 TQ

Hi.

Had a strange problem this weekend.
The engine started to ping by pressing the pedal and the ignition where cut 
off after a few second. That was only for a second, but if I still was 
giving the full throttle it was cutting off again.

Found that my wastegate was loose, fastend it and the fault has gone.
The wastegate has a fixed pressure, no APC'alike controll.

Beets my mind.

Anyone that can explain this.

BTW. tried a BMW 330ix last weekend, funny little toy but the rear end came 
out more than on "our" toys. It reacted faster by turning in corners, had a 
flatter torque and more power.
"Stiffer" suspension, lighter body and tighter interior. Think I'll stick 
to Audi, am I getting old ;-)
