pacemark snows (was BFG winter slalom)

I would highly recommend the Pacemarks. They are a bit noisy at highway
speeds but do an excellent job at going through deep snow. Unfortunately,
they don't seem to do as well on ice, but I only have experience with them
unstudded. My mother has them on her Volvo 240, which now goes fairly well
in the snow. With four passengers, it will climb a very steep hill covered
in 6" of snow. Put ice down, and it won't budge however, but, that's RWD.

They also appear to wear very well. Just put them on and still have plenty
of tread. This will be the 4th winter and probably 20000 miles on them. Of
course, they only go on at the threat of first snow and come off as soon as
winter is over.

I've currently have Cooper WinterMaster's on my 4000Q, unstudded. These too
are a good tire, with many more sipes for about the same price. Another
good one for the price are the Hankooks which incidently have almost the
same exact tread patter as the old Hakka 10. These worked well on my Saab
as well as the set of studded Gislaved's I had for one winter. (I guess I
really like trying different snow tires.)

My 2 cents,
