Should I buy this 5ktqa?

OK...

I'd agree totally...Many enthusiasts/listers have added quite expensive
stuffs to their cars...wheels, eurolights, stereos, etc. But usually cars
being sold have this stuff stripped, and the Rob didn't mention anything
about those expensive items. In fact very few average drivers get any of
that expensive extra stuff. Most people struggle to keep their car in good
shape, esp. if they are not listers, and the thought of adding $2000 wheels
never enters their minds. Point is, a 5k on the market is not really worth
more than 3g's unless it's a lister's car or has tons of upgrades. And I'm
sure Chris Turner's car would make me wet my pants, but I bet the car is in
perfect shape mechanically and electrically plus has all the goodies. Often
when you buy a used car though, you have no idea what the car has been
through or what's been done. And inspection emissions and safety often will
force a new owner to replace all kinds of parts like cat., brakes, e-brake
cables, etc. If this 5ktqa has a $1000 stereo or OZ wheels, I think all of
us have been mistaken in our estimates, not just me.

I believe this is only one of several recommendations I gave to Rob. I
quote myself, "It also could just be a leak in one of the intake hoses
[michelin man or other], which is a very common failure mode." I think
you'd have to admit though, if a 5ktqa which is heavier than a 5kt or 5ktq
is comparable to an A6, it sounds like there's a lot more boost than 1.1
bar. And such a problem w/ the ECU line could cause exactly that. We really
don't know how this 1.1 bar was achieved, so any guess is good as the next.
My question to you and others who have questioned this, why is this not an
option? And for the very little effort required to test this, it seems
silly to overlook this possibility.
