"i'd saw off a limb for a new s4..."

i totally agree. the outback wagon has been, i would say, i HUGE success,
and the volvo x-country is very popular as well. i dont thing the audi will
be as popular as the sub, as its so much more $, but at least as popular as
the volvo...if the popularity of the rest of their line is any indication.
its only a matter of time befor suv's wear out like any other fad. people
will realize they are asinine vehicles, especially as products like the
allroad come out and the price of gas creeps up.
i would swear the a4 is the official dotcom car here in san fran. they must
pass them out with double latte's and pale orange business cards.
i also cant believe how many s4's i see. it's a drag, i think. the older
cars are so much cooler bc they're rare and you know 95% of the people
driving them are audi nuts. the new s4 seems like its much more of a poser
status car like the m3. dont get me wrong, i'd saw off a limb for a new s4
(or an m3 for that matter), but, it makes me laugh when i see people driving
around in a car of that caliber and they have NO IDEA whats its capable of
nor what its pedigree is.
oh well. my little rant.

Oh, I don't know, Subbie and Volvo seem to be doing just fine...
It's not going to be as common as the Grand Cherokee, but I think
it will sell well for audi. It is pretty pricey though.

Depressingly, I suspect you're right. It's not an SUV-- it's not
truck-based, and neither tall enough or massive enough. I
predict it will fail in the market. It's not what people want.
It's what people *should* want, which is not the same thing.
