85 ur-q console lights

Hi gang. I'm wondering what's up with my console lighting. None of them will 
come on. Dash lights work, diff panel lights work. I'm getting power to the 
blue/white wires, but still, the lights don't work. I have a harness from an 
86 4kq, but the ur-q harness has a white and a red wire coming from under the 
tunnel that both have power, unswitched, and the 4k harness doesn't. Also, 
where does the rear defrost switch get its power? Mine is unhooked for 
whatever reason. Hm..........., anything else?

In the instrument cluster, there is a red wire that goes from behind the 
speedo to a small post under the fuel gauge. What's that for?
One more thing....... will the temp gauge from my 4kq work in the ur-q 
without any wiring changes? There's already been enough of them!!!!
