free HP/intercooler

Has anyone looked into those Ford Powerstroke intercoolers.  With some
preliminary math the core of the ford unit could have more than 1200cc's
of air in it.  The audi unit is would be around 400 or 500cc, very rough
guess on this.  The ford unit is single pass 36x18x2 and has 3" in and
out.  I wouldn't mind trying this out.  This will be what my Rabbit Turbo
Diesel Running on grease with a K26 will have for an intercooler.
