UrS4 Purchase Information

There is a NHTSA recall for the S4/S6 in the U.S.A., Wolff, and a Transport
Canada recall for the S4/S6 in Canada on the fuel lines. Audi has not yet
come through with a recall, although there are rumours one is imminent.
Nothing has been mentioned about the 200. If yours is leaking, call AoA
Customer Service and see if they will fix it on a "goodwill" basis. They
have been doing this for S4/S6 owners, although some owners have had to
scream, protest, and plead to get satisfaction.
If your leak is in the same spot as the S4/S6 leaks, you may be able to get
coverage. The leak is at one or both of the crimped ferrules on the flex
line at the discharge end of the fuel filter.
Call AoA at 800-822-2834. Describe your fuel line leak to a customer
service
rep. Tell them you know AoA has been paying 100% coverage for these
repairs on the S4/S6.
They will deny knowledge of the problem and the coverage and tell you
they
will look into it. They will open a file on your case - ask for the file
number.

Call your dealer's service manager. Give him the customer rep's name and
the
file number. AoA will contact your area's technical rep who will talk to
your dealer's service manager. Hopefully, the tech rep knows about the
coverage. If you don't hear back within a week, call the customer rep
again
and ask for the status of your file.

The dealer has to verify the leak before Audi will pay. This is where it
helps to have a really good relationship with the service manager :o).
At
first, the lines only leak when cold. Spraying the crimped ferrule,
hose,
and metal line with some of the freeze spray used to check circuit
boards or
free up rusted bolts may make it leak. If you
can
make your line leak by moving it, the dealer can easily verify the leak.

Once the dealer has verified the leak, AoA will usually cover 100% of
the
repair on an S4/S6. You may have to fight to get your 200 repaired. I had to
fight for my S4 repair. In fact, I complained to Transport Canada about the
defect
and they have issued a recall in Canada on the S4/S6.
