Sounds like you have a ground loop. Are all the stereo components
(head unit, amps, etc) in your system grounded at one common point?
There are a few of ways to solve grond loop problems.
1. All components ground in one location, using as short a wire and
as heavy a gauge as possible.
2. The RCA signal cable ground connection should be connected only on
one end (do this only if the input of your amplifier has true ground
on its input, rather than some sort of differential input. If the
latter you wouldn't have a ground loop in the first place)
3. Use a ground loop isolator transformer (available at Radio Shack).
