settling on '88 5kcstq instead of '91 200 or V8?

Seems like as time goes by from late eighties to early nineties
everything in Audis became softer. My '88 80 has great brake pedal feel,
stiff, but nicely assisted. The steering is hard and I get tons of road
feedback, though I'd love a little more directness. The 90 B4 models I've
driven have very light brake pedals, though the braking is there all right.
The steering is made for parallel parking at high speeds. Both cars are
great to drive but I'd take a TYP89 over a B4 based on the softness/firmness
quotient. I gather that my mother's old 100 C4 had very light pedal feel
and steering, then she switched to the 200q20v and said it was great
comparatively. She now enjoys driving my rig because of the standard box,
but that's rare when we get to trade cars:)
