Oh, it does.  I have a BF Sykes-Pikavant S that is just _perfect_ for
listening to steering pump bearings, etc.

I lost it a few months back and bought a FACOM replacement.  Good
screwdriver - lousy stethoscope.  Then I found the S-P one again.

With the plastic tube tie-wrapped to the end, you can push it in
anywhere your ear doesn't want to go.  It's the only way I know of
conclusively diagnosing a leak in the wastegate concertina pipe, for
instance.

If you find a rattle, and it's convenient, you can switch to contact
mode with the BFS.
