Epoxy Repairs for reservior

It may be best for you to get a new or good used tank, however, you may be
able to do repair as I have with relativly good success on some previous
VW's. On my current AUDI's, I tend to avoid these fixes, especially since
we have such good sources for new and used parts.

There is some moldable 2 part epoxy which comes in ribbon or similar. You
kneed the two parts yellow and blue together until you get a nice pliable
green. Then even a larger hole can be repaired, even under water. However,
it is best that the area be thouroughly cleaned and chemical free.

You can also use, in conjunction or by itself, some epoxy resin and hardener
to layer over where a crack has formed, but is just a slight leak. Mix the
components and pour and swirl over the crack. The resin will harden and
seal the crack.

You may find the expoxy costs you more than a used reservior.

Good Luck

Ben
Many VWs and Boats fixed with epoxy, marine tex, etc.

<Is there an epoxy or other sealant to stop a leak in the plastic overflow
tank, patient is an 86 5000S, or does anyone have a source for a
replacement in the Boston area. Thanks>
