Worse yet. After my November contribution was ignored and a piece
containing a direct lie published in its place, I specifically cleared
this piece, its content and length with our Chairman. I have emails not
only containing his go-ahead, but also an acknowledgement that he
received my text for Dec/Jan on 20 November.
The problem is that the posts of Chairman, Secretary and Newsletter
Editor have been combined into one. Thus no dissent can ever reach
the membership via Club channels, and he has also made the job so
onerous that no one else will take it on. Neat, huh?
I'm undecided as to whether to call an Extraordinary General Meeting to
force a split of these jobs (I of course disqualify myself) or to
mailshot the membership to form a new club with more emphasis on making
the care and maintenance of older cars more affordable for the bulk
of people.
