I gotta say, I like these tires. Vredestein WinTrac H-rated 195/60/15.
The Vredestein WinTrac doesn't appear to be a straight snow tire,
rather they appear to be inclement-weather-aggressive all-season tires.
I don't know a better way to describe these babies, other than to say
that the tires seem to be a good all around choice.
By my own admission, I wasn't interested in a snow tire that would
perform poorly in the dry. I would estimate that 85% of the winter
months, I'm still driving on dry roads.
Since last Friday, I've driven; dry country backroads, dry highways,
wet highways, snow dusted secondary roads, and suburban side streets
with approx 0.5 - 1 inch of snow. Amazing, really, that in my trial
period with these tires, I've been able to judge them across such a
wide array of conditions. My verdict so far... I like them.
The WinTracs are quiet, real quiet; quieter than my old V-rated
205/60/15 BFG Comp T/A tires, and quieter than my Z-rated 205/55/16
Bridgestone RE71'S uber tires. I haven't felt a single squirm or hop,
just good all around performance.
