Why is my Audi 5000 Passengers front door handle so hard toopen?

FYI, these are called "roll pins". Should be available in standard sizes
(I wonder, but I'm sure they are unobtanium metric for Audis, why would
they use anything else?) at the local hardware or industrial store should
you drive one out and loose it.
